Hello My Name Is...
I am one of the Science teachers for Oak Grove High School. This will be my fourth year at OGHS. The classes I will be teaching are Biology, Physical Science, and Environmental Science. I am from a small town around the Lake of the Ozarks. I received my degree in Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. GO TIGERS! I live in the Kansas City area. I am not a crazy cat lady, but I might be a crazy plant lady. They are all over my house. I have family all around the state so when I get a chance to travel, I like to go visit them. I am looking forward to many exciting years at Oak Grove High School.
Attached you will find the syllabus for the class with policies and guidelines that have been set in place for a successful year. If there are any questions or concerns about those practices, please write a brief message on the side of this paper or on the back. If there is something I should know about your student that could help/hinder their success, please let me know. I will then contact you with a response, either by email or paper copy. Please contact me at any time for a grade check, behavior check, or other concerns about your student. Email will be the easiest method of contacting me, but please call my phone as well. I will respond to your concerns as soon as possible. I plan on attending as many school events as possible, if you would like to speak to me then, please do so.
In an effort to keep you informed about the class, I have the option of text message or email reminders. I have provided a paper to your student with the instructions and information for signing up for this option. At the bottom of the page is an indication of what type of communication you would like to be used during the school year. This could mean for missing work, late assignments, grade concerns, etc. The attached syllabus has a set of guidelines for laboratory safety that requires you to read over and sign as well. Below the contact information, please provide as much information about yourself, your family, and your student. The more I know, the better able I will be to help your child succeed in the science classroom this year.
Thank you and I look forward to a fantastic school year. GO PANTHERS!!
