Intro to College Mathematics
Ms. Bueneman’s Intro to College Math

Course Description:
This course is an advanced algebra course extending properties and fundamentals from Algebra 2.  Students will study algebraic expressions, equations, measurement and proportional reasoning, linear functions, linear systems of equations, quadratic functions, exponential functions, and summarizing statistical data.  It is designed to prepare students for the college placement testing and to be successful in College Algebra.  This course is designed to be followed by College Algebra.

Grading:
Grades will be determined using homework (each usually worth 5 pts), bell work and Do Nows (each usually worth 5 pts), quizzes (10 to 50 pts each), and tests (200 pts each).  Late homework will be taken for half credit up until the test date.  After the test date, no homework for that section will be accepted. Your grade will be an average of all points earned within a quarter. Semester grades will be calculated using each quarter grade as 45% and the Semester Final/End of Year Final as 10% of the semester grade.

Supplies:
You will need to bring paper and pencil every day.  ONLY WORK IN PENCIL will be accepted.  Graphing calculators will be available for use in the classroom.  Graphing calculators will not be available to check out overnight. If you are going to purchase a graphing calculator, I recommend purchasing a Texas Instruments 84+.
