Principal's Corner

Welcome to OGHS – Home of the Panthers!

Hello OGHS students, parents, and patrons!  I thank you for visiting the Oak Grove High School web site.  As a former English/Language Arts teacher, I value the importance of communication and hope this web site easily gives you the information you desire.  If it does not, please stop by the office or email/call anytime with questions or concerns.

OGHS offers an outstanding place for students to grow educationally, to involve themselves in numerous activities, and to enjoy a meaningful high school experience.  In every way that people measure schools, whether academically, in the fine and performing arts, or athletically, Oak Grove High School excels.

The OGHS curriculum, course offerings, and co- and extra-curricular offerings rate second to none.  The excellent faculty and staff strive to create an environment where all students receive the attention necessary to achieve their individual success.  We support and encourage all students in achieving their optimum potential by instilling in them an intrinsic sense of worth, curiosity, and love of learning.

All of this happens because of the strong partnership that has developed for many years between the school and the parents.  I hope that this web site will assist in that endeavor.  Parents, if you feel something that could negatively affect your daughter’s/son’s success at school is occurring, please communicate with the teachers or with me at any time.  We want to support all students in their pursuit of excellence.

I feel extremely honored and privileged to serve as principal of a school so rich in tradition and community involvement.  As principal, I will give you my best effort to maintain the atmosphere that makes OGHS outstanding and to introduce new ideas and programs that will benefit the entire student body.

I thank you for reading this welcome letter and look forward to renewing relationships and establishing new ones as the school year begins and progresses.

In the immortal words of long-time teacher and coach George Pirch, Go Panthers!

Sincerely,

Adam Salmon

Principal
